COMD-20001 Exceptionality and Technology This course examines how technology has the potential to significantly improve the education and quality of life for people with disabilities. In this course, students will explore concepts such as coping and loss as they survey a range of disabilities (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, hearing loss, and neurogenic disorders). We will examine the advantages, limitations, and controversial aspects of using assistive technology to support individuals with disabilities from early childhood through adulthood. As part of our investigation, we will consider a full range of assistive technology, including both low and high technology options.
