MATH 33400. ABSTRACT ALGEBRA I This course is an introduction to abstract algebraic structures. This course includes an axiomatic approach to familiar number systems, equivalence, congruence, groups, subgroups, symmetric groups, Lagranges Theorem, factor groups, homomorphism, isomorphism, and rings. Emphasis is on understanding and writing mathematical proofs.
